Cut-To-Size Items are Non-Returnable!

As per our Shipping and Returns Policy, custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-returnable. If you need an over- or undersized item, note it under \"Comments\" during Checkout. Cut-to-size orders have an acceptable cut tolerance of 1/8" (0.125"), so clarify if the adjustment is to be made on the (+) or (-) side of the saw blade. Please review our full return and shipping policy here.

Measure Twice, Cut Once

Since custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-refundable, be very careful while measuring your dimensions. As each cut is nominal, even the slightest miscalculation could be costly.

How to Use a Measuring Tape

Extend your tape measure several inches to find the 1 and 2 inch markers. In between the inch markers you’ll find 16 equally spaced tick marks.

Measure by counting the increments beyond the nearest inch. As the increments decrease, so does the length of the mark. For example, 1/2\" has a bigger mark than 1/4\" which has a bigger mark than 1/8\". The smallest mark follows at 1/16\". Please be aware that some measuring tapes may have even smaller increments.

Features of a Measuring Tape: Sliding End Hook

The sliding end hook is designed for two different types of measurements. An outside measurement (where the hook of the tape hangs over an edge), requires the hook to slide out a bit to account for the thickness of the material. When making an inside measurement (where the hook will push up against a surface), the clip slides in, again, accounting for its thickness. The measuring tape self-adjusts to guarantee an accurate measurement (as far as the tape is concerned).

Description

AZCARB BR: UL 752 Rated No-Spall Ballistic Glazing

Maximize security without the "white-out" of traditional glass. AZCARB BR offers multi-shot protection and 50% less weight than glass-clad laminates, making it the industry standard for high-security tactical visibility.

Unlike traditional glass-clad products, AZCARB BR's advanced laminate construction is specifically engineered to resist spalling and "white-out" after repeated high-force impacts. This ensures that even under attack, the material maintains a clear line of sight, allowing personnel to identify and respond to threats effectively.

Why Choose AZCARB BR?

AZCARB BR is the professional's choice for ballistic glazing. Produced with 100% virgin Lexan™ resin, it offers a superior combination of optical clarity and life-saving durability. Choose this grade if your application requires:

  • Superior Threat Visibility: The material won't "spider web" or white-out under attack, maintaining a clear line of sight when it matters most.
  • No-Spall Protection: Engineered to prevent dangerous fragments (spall) from breaking off the rear surface during an impact, providing an extra level of safety for occupants.
  • Advanced Surface Hardcoat: Features a proprietary thermal-cured siloxane coating on all exterior surfaces to resist marring, chemical attack, and graffiti.
  • Lightweight Efficiency: Approximately 50% lighter than glass laminates of the same thickness, making it easier to handle and install.
  • Certified Performance: Tested and rated for UL 752 ballistic levels, including Multi-Shot (MS) capabilities for high-velocity threats.

Ballistic Polycarbonate vs. Ballistic Acrylic: Which Do You Need?

Both materials provide ballistic protection, but they perform differently during a threat event.

  • Choose AZCARB BR (Polycarbonate) if you require a "no-spall" solution that remains transparent and does not shatter after repeated impacts. It is the ideal choice for tactical visibility and extreme durability.
  • Choose Ballistic Acrylic if you need a lower-cost option for Level 1 or Level 2 protection where weight and thickness are less critical, though it may be more prone to cracking or spalling compared to polycarbonate laminates.

Fabrication & Versatility

Despite its immense strength, AZCARB BR is easier to work with than glass-clad alternatives. It can be cut and prepared for installation in demanding environments such as jails, detention centers, psychiatric hospitals, and 24-hour convenience stores.

Planning to fabricate in-house? Review our polycarbonate fabrication guide for more information on cutting, drilling, and finishing polycarbonate.

Not equipped to fabricate ballistic sheet on-site? If you lack the specialized CNC tools or aren't comfortable machining high-value laminates, we offer full-service CNC fabrication for ballistic barriers. We can precision-drill and fabricate custom speak holes, package exchange holes, or pass-throughs to your exact specifications.
