Excelon Tubing Overview
What is Excelon Tubing?
Flexible Excelon tubing is more durable than rubber and excels in conditions where rubber tubing would crack or weaken. Manufactured to maintain performance in conditions where rubber tubing would weaken, crack, or fail, Excelon tubing is used in many industries including the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food and beverage industries for fluid transfer. Excelon is equivalent to Tygon® for similar applications.
Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) tubing combine an elastomer, or rubber, with a thermoplastic. The resulting material has the flexibility and softness of an elastomer, but the easy to process nature and recyclability of a thermoplastic. TPE tubing can be stretched and returned to its original shape, resists cracking, and has excellent thermal properties.
Is PVC tubing chemical resistant?
Tubing made from PVC resists many chemicals, alcohols, and oils. PVC in general has excellent corrosion and chemical resistance.
What tubing is chemical resistant?
Materials such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, and PVDF are used to make chemical resistant tubing. Excelon tubing is generally chemical resistant, though some grades are inherently more resistant to chemicals than others. Excelon Laboratory & Vacuum Tubing and Ultra Chemical Resistant Tubing both exhibit greater general chemical resistance than other Excelon grades.
Tygon® Equivalents
Excelon tubing grades are a similar or exact alternative to Tygon® tubing for its respective applications.
